Im in love with my friend. Some days we’ll talk on the phone for HOURS. We talk almost every day & are so close it is like we can read each other’s minds. We’ve hooked up a couple of times in the past and it was kind of scary because there was so much between us, it almost put pressure on the situation.
We live in the same city but rarely see each other in person. His close friends think he is in love with me, but is afraid of commitment and getting hurt.
He is one of the best friends I’ve ever had and our dynamic has been this way for almost two years. He doesn’t date other people. I’m just in this limbo.
He treats me like we are in a relationship communication-wise, but we never see each other in person. I’d love to hear your thoughts, I’m so confused about the entire situation. Thank you!!
If his friends are right and he’s afraid of commitment then the contained nature of the relationship is safe for him. However, living in the same city with you and rarely if ever seeing you face-to-face goes beyond a simple fear of commitment. I don’t think whatever internal struggle he’s dealing with - if, in fact, he’s dealing with one - will be simple to unravel.
